SEAPA representatives from Australia, the United States, and Japan will speak at an important knowledge-sharing seminar about oyster farming from each region while attending the three-day Japanese International Seafood Show in Tokyo from August 23-25. All three representatives will form part of SEAPA’S exhibition booth in Tokyo, where the company will display new products and equipment.
SEAPA will be holding an exclusive seminar and networking event for interested oyster farmers to hear from our overseas experts plus leading Japanese farmers.
Nippon Ishika representative Director Mr Kazuki Kawai will explain the business opportunities in overseas markets for Japanese producers. Mr Kazuki changed the name of their company from Nippon Sekihana to Nippon Ishika and has focused on developing the overseas market, airlifting oysters to 14 countries. He will provide his insights into what is necessary for Japanese oysters to win the competition in the overseas market.
SEAPA USA Vice-President Erik Schlagenhauf will talk about the American oyster production market and farming technology. Erik worked at Hog Island Oysters farm in California as the Managing Director and made efforts to improve the efficiency of the site by making use of his craftsmanship and skills. He has overseen the business development of SEAPA in the USA since 2019.
SEAPA Australia’s Business Manager Alex Jack will present on overcoming challenges in the oyster industry down under. After 10 years at SEAPA’s headquarters in Adelaide, South Australia, Alex has been working side-by-side with Australian oyster farmers to help develop oyster farming products. He is the Business Manager for overseas operations and understands the trends of the world’s oyster farming industry.
SEAPA Japan representative Director Takehiro Yoshimoto will talk about single-seed farming becoming one of the clear options in Japan. He will explain the reasons behind SEAPA’s enthusiasm for taking the lead in Japan, along with new materials and machinery.
